One of the coolest jobs is being a private investigator or detective. Their primary function is to make investigations from law cases. They are often under the employment of private or public attorneys especially for civil cases. This job is the closest one can get to living the kind of life Sherlock Holmes had.

If you want to become a detective, you need to be licensed. There are private investigations Oregon certifications which you can attend. But first, you have to meet the requirements, which is the first standard procedure in obtaining a private eye license in the city of Oregon.

The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training or DPSST sets the guidelines for the licensed, new, and aspiring detectives in Oregon city. They are the ones who issue the license to individuals who have passed the exam. This department gathers and uses personal, crimes, accidents, and property information relevant to solve certain civil cases.

Becoming a private detective requires you to meet the initial requirements like being a US citizen, being at least of legal age which is eighteen and above, having an investigative job which is equal to one thousand five hundred hours, or a certification from an institution with an equivalent of five hundred hours of education. These are important so that you are already familiar with the nature of the job. And that it is not all too difficult to adjust.

But if you do not have the experience or the education, you can enroll yourself to obtain a certificate. You can also contact a licensed and professional detective to apply as an apprentice. Graduates of Criminal Justice can also apply for this. But the experienced applicants are more preferred. You need to practice your analytical skills if you are very pursuant about this profession.

Once you already have these qualifications, start completing the needed requirements to complete your application. There is a seventy nine dollar fee for the background check and examination. Active military members are exempted. You also need to secure an application, letters of reference, finger print specimen, two pictures, and a resume complete with educational background, personal information, work experiences, and other relevant fields.

The next step is to submit your application. There are requisite fees like the exam and background check fee which costs seventy nine dollars and a license fee of five hundred dollars. Exempted from the payment are applicants who are active in the military. A filled out application, reference letters from three professionals, finger print specimen, two recent pictures, and CV are also included in the application requirements.

There are also fees for insurance which costs five thousand dollars in total. A Professional Code of Ethics is also needed. The next step is to take the examination. As soon as you can pass the test, you will be given a license which is valid for a period of two years. You can join associations or apply directly to investigation firms.
