Information On Where Do We Go After Death

By Leslie Ball

Spiritualists and scientists have differed in their opinions on what usually happens to the soul after we die. When a person dies, the physical body stops to be in existence while the rest of his existence and consciousness continues. Death does not mean that life has come to an end but a departure for the spirit world which is our real home. Where do we go after death is hence a question that depends on ones beliefs and knowledge on the subject matter.

In the world today, people are more aware of the things that happened in the early days that the people of the past did. The life after death issues were however well known to them compared to people who existed in the past. The topic is not taught in schools and many people choose to ignore it by not mentioning it.

The real occurrence takes place following the connection between the soul and the body has been completely destroyed and not when the body stops to function. A person has to accept their fate for this kind of death to take place which occurs later on. The soul of such a person hovers around the place where they lived for approximately a week.

A spiritual guide especially for someone who was close to the deceased leads one to the river known as Styx that is believed to divide the mortal world with the immortal one where people are believed to go after dying. According to the religious background of that person, the guide can be a Christian priest, a Buddhist monk or an angel. Once that river is crossed, there really is no coming back to the earth and how thing goes is based on the various beliefs of different people.

Souls are generally reluctant to move away from the earth after dying but in many cases, they hang around for a few days for their funeral. Most of the souls pass through some sort of a tunnel towards light coming from heaven. Ghosts are spirits who have decided to remain within the earth with a high degree of dissatisfaction and can be dealt with by exorcism.

In the case of Christians, very little to no information has been provided on what happens between the time of death and the coming of Christ. The Bible is limited to what will happen during resurrection and after that. Christians also believe that following death, both the soul and the body sleep until the last day and that the soul does not leave the body.

Every person will meet their as it is an unavoidable part of life and scientists have researched and found some helpful information. One of them is that the body ceases to function but the brain still has its consciousness. This was tested in hospital where patients said that they knew what was going on around them when in a coma.

Some people have the chance to know when their deaths will take place when they are diagnosed with terminal diseases in the early stages; this allows them to say their goodbyes and set their things in order. Most people do not get this chance. It allows one to be acceptable of the situation and be peaceful about it.
