Reputable Charities Help The Most Underprivileged Members Of Society

By Cynthia Green

Billions of people all over the world need help. On the other hand, there are only a few genuine charities. Thus, the world needs more reputable charities. Charity work is one of the greatest human virtues. According to the wise men of the past, it is better to give than to receive. There is no greater act on earth than the act of giving. The hand that gives will be blessed abundantly. Thus, it will never face lack for even a single day. Being always on the receiving end is not good. At times, one should be on the giving end.

A reputable charitable organization will help in many ways. It will deal head on with the issue of poverty. As a matter of fact, poverty is a cancer that is slowly eating away the conscience of the world. The ever widening gap between the rich and the poor is an issue of concern. Some people live in utter poverty.

Some charities have poverty eradication programs. These programs have lifted many people from poverty. There are human beings who are so disenfranchised that they cannot afford to put food on the table. In underdeveloped countries, a huge percentage of the population lives on less than a dollar a day. Such people need to be empowered to conquer poverty.

Charity can involve poverty eradication. Alternatively, it can deal with helping those who want an education but they cannot get one because of their current situation of life. Education is the greatest gift that a person can receive. An individual can only be able to change the world if he is educated. The importance of education must never be underestimated.

The one characteristic of the least developed countries on earth is the low literacy level. Actually, there are billions of people all over the world who do not know how to read and write. Some of these people are found in a number of developed nations. In some African countries, there are few schools and lack of quality reading materials.

Charities are helping to provide underprivileged members of society with the basic needs. As a matter of fact, some people lack the bare basics. The most basic human need is water. The others are food, shelter, and clothing. An individual can survive for weeks without food. However, he can only survive for a few days without water. That is the ultimate reality.

In developing countries all over the world, millions of people usually go to bed hungry. It is also hard for these people to access clean drinking water. That leads to the spread of chronic water borne diseases and the death of many. Though the best charities, boreholes are being constructed in developing countries at a rate that has never been seen before. These provide clean water.

A caring heart is essential. It is what makes a person to be human. One should care for his family and friends. He should also care for neighbors and strangers. That is the sure way to make the world a better place. A caring person will not sit back and wonder at the level of suffering on earth. He will do something by contributing to charities.
